About The Muse

Dave Matthews Band performs at the muse in 1994

For decades, The Muse has been a cornerstone of Nantucket’s music scene — a legendary dive bar where unforgettable nights and iconic performances have become part of island lore. Long before they were filling arenas, artists like Dave Matthews, John Mayer, Hootie & the Blowfish, Train, and many more took the stage here, turning this small room into one of the most storied live music venues in New England.

Today, we’re honoring that legacy while building the next chapter.

The Muse is becoming a destination for some of the biggest bands on the road to step off the arena circuit and into an intimate room where the connection between artist and audience is immediate, electric, and unforgettable. It’s the rare kind of place where you can stand a few feet from musicians who normally play to thousands.

At its core, The Muse has always been about community. Locals, summer visitors, musicians, service workers, artists, and friends from every walk of life come together under one roof for the shared experience of live music.

We believe in the power of music to bring people together — create memories, and remind us that the best moments happen when a room full of people feels the same song at the same time.
